Heated and cool eye masks are great ways to help with eye pain, headaches and migraines, swelling and puffiness around the eyes, as well as dry eye syndrome. Both moist and dry application can be used with eye masks. For our dry heated or cool masks we have, up until now, mostly used flax seed masks. We thought we would try out these gel masks.
You don't want to microwave these. Just dip them in hot water for a few minutes, dry off and insert them in the cover. The cover has an insulated liner that helps hold the temperature. Because it is a metallic liner in the cover it will carry the heat plenty, so this is another reason not to get the gel mask too hot. It is recommended they can be used for at least 10 minutes when hot. That because that is really about as long as the hot temperature holds.
